(c) Raphaël Martin-Roy

Raphaël is a PhD student at the CAGT and member of the AGES team since October 2021. He obtained his Master’s degree in Ecology and Evolution at the University of Poitiers in 2019. He then worked as a research assistant in the Organismal and Evolutionary Biology Research Programme at the University of Helsinki, Finland. During this time, he studied the consequences of hybridization in Formica wood ants under climate change context.

His current work is part of the ANR JCJC MEET project and aims at better understanding how Mytilus mussels are affected by their environment through time. To do so, he analyses mussel shells dated back to the last 9,000 years and study variations in both their morphological and genomic landscapes through time. Bringing together the latest technics in 3D morphometry, genomics, and paleo-environment reconstructions.
